Margolis was a regular in the films of director Darren Aronofsky, including “Pi,” “Requiem for a Dream,” “The Fountain,” “The Wrestler,” “Black Swan” and “Noah.”

His other film and television credit includes; The Opening of Misty Beethoven, Going in Style, Dressed to Kill, Christmas Evil, Eddie Macon’s Run, Scarface, The Cotton Club, The Bedroom Window, Glory, White Hot, I Shot Andy Warhol, and The Pallbearer, among others.

He passed away at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City on Thursday, after a short illness, according to his son, Morgan Margolis.
