Eddie Hearn has told talkSPORT.com that he intends to make Devin Haney a formal offer for a fight with Regis Prograis later this year.
The British promoter announced last month that he'd signed WBC super-lightweight world champion Prograis.
He instantly scheduled a homecoming defence for the champion, which will come against Danielito Zorrilla on June 17 in New Orleans.
Hearn previously promoted Haney for three years before the young American utilised free agency to secure an undisputed title shot.
Haney signed a three-fight deal with Bob Arum's Top Rank last year and fought George Kambosos Jr twice, emerging victorious on both occasions with the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO lightweight world titles.
The final fight of this deal came last month as Haney won a close and controversial decision against Vasyl Lomachenko.

Now, he is a free agent once more and expected to move up to super-lightweight.
Haney has further options in Arum's stable as the promoter recently named Shakur Stevenson, a Vasyl Lomachenko rematch, or the Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez winner as possibilities.
However, Haney also called his old promoter Hearn last month upon hearing that he'd signed Prograis.
The pair have now arranged for him to be ringside at Prograis vs Zorrilla with an offer set to land on Haney's desk shortly afterwards.
